There's something unquantifiably comforting about baking. Especially Nan's butter cake. Into cup cakes. With my two favourite sous chefs.

It chills me out just putting paper into tins...
Baking cakes makes the house smell divine.
And oooh icing. My only concession to artificial colour.
Gentle colour choices, children. Very subtle.
They won't win any awards but edible craft is still my favourite way to spend an afternoon with small people.
Hoping to be home from hospital and back online middle of next week.
